Beau Greaves defeated Luke Littler 6–5 to become the first woman to reach the World Youth Championship final.
Beau Greaves made history by defeating Luke Littler 6–5 in a thrilling semi-final to become the first woman to reach the final of the World Youth Championship. The Doncaster star, 21, sealed the win with an 11-dart leg and a decisive 80 checkout, capping an intense battle against the 18-year-old Warrington talent.
Littler had entered the tournament in Wigan on the back of his impressive 6–1 victory over world number one Luke Humphries in the World Grand Prix final. He had dominated the round-robin phase with wins over Jeffrey Keen, Alexander Thorvaldsson, and Matthias Moors, before surviving a tough last-16 match against Charlie Manby, where he came back from 5–3 down to claim victory.
In the semi-final, Littler initially took the lead 2–1, winning three consecutive legs to gain control. However, Greaves, a three-time WDF women’s world champion set to accept a PDC Tour card for the 2026–27 season, fought back to level the match at 4–4 and 5–5. She then surged past Littler in the decider, completing a historic win and setting up a final against defending champion Gian van Veen. Van Veen, 23, secured his spot by defeating Poland’s Sebastian Bialecki 6–4 in the other semi-final.
The World Youth Championship final is scheduled for 23 November in Minehead, taking place before the Players Championship final on the same day. The tournament is open to players aged between 16 and 24. Littler, who won the youth title in 2023 at age 16 and later finished runner-up at the 2024 World Championship, congratulated Greaves on Instagram, saying: “Fair play to Beau. All the best in Minehead. Some talent.”
