Bastien Tronchon Stuns Rivals to Win Vuelta a España Stage 10

French rider Bastien Tronchon produced a stunning late sprint to win Stage 10 of the 2026 Vuelta a España, securing his first Grand Tour stage victory.

The Groupama-FDJ United rider surged past late attackers Yevgeniy Fedorov and Xabier Mikel Azparren in the final metres before holding off Magnus Cort and Thibau Nys in a dramatic finish.

The 184.7km stage from Alcaraz to Elche de la Sierra featured three classified climbs and almost 3,000 metres of elevation, creating a difficult route before the riders reached the finish.

Fedorov and Azparren launched a late attack inside the final kilometre and looked capable of avoiding the chasing group, but Tronchon timed his acceleration perfectly to catch them with around 50 metres remaining.

Tronchon crossed the line ahead of Cort and Nys, while Wout van Aert finished fourth after narrowly missing out on the podium. The victory marks the biggest win of the 24-year-old Frenchman's career and his first success in a Grand Tour.

Enric Mas successfully defended the red leader's jersey after finishing safely with the main group. The Movistar rider remains ahead of Primož Roglič, with Oscar Onley sitting fourth overall.
