The Handball Federation of Nigeria has announced that Phase 2 of the 2025 Ardova Handball Premier League will take place in Lagos.
The Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) announced on Friday that the second phase of the Ardova Handball Premier League 2025 will take place in Lagos from November 25 to December 7, 2025.
HFN General Secretary Monica Otumala revealed that the league, proudly sponsored by Ardova PLC, will be held at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Institute of Sports (NIS) within the National Stadium complex in Surulere and at Rowe Park Sports Center in Yaba, Lagos.
Teams are expected to arrive in Lagos on Tuesday, November 25, for an important Technical Meeting, with matches beginning the following day, Wednesday, November 26, and running through December 6, when league winners will be announced. All teams are scheduled to depart on December 7.
Otumala urged participating clubs to prepare diligently and complete all necessary documentary registrations ahead of the league. She stated, “The Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) is pleased to inform you that Phase 2 of the 2025 Ardova Handball Premier League will take place from November 25 to December 7, 2025, with arrivals on November 25, competition from November 26 to December 6, and departures on December 7. Participating teams must ensure proper planning for arrival and departure, and player registrations must be completed on or before November 10, 2025.”
From Phase 1, Safety Shooters and Safety Babes, both owned by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), lead the male and female categories, respectively. The men’s league sees Safety Shooters top the standings with 28 points and a +91 goal difference, while COAS Shooters are second with 28 points and a +50 goal difference. Rima Strikers of Sokoto hold third with 25 points, and defending champions Tojemarine Handball Club are fourth with 24 points.
In the women’s league, five-time champions Safety Babes lead comfortably with 21 points, having won all matches so far. Rima Queens of Sokoto are second with 19 points, former champions Plateau Peacocks are third with 15 points, Imo Grasshoppers of Owerri are fourth, and newcomers Soof Omo Ogiefo HBC are fifth with 13 points.
