Anna Huang Fires 67 to Lead Opening Round of PIF London Championship

Canada's Anna Huang made an excellent start to the PIF London Championship, carding a six-under-par 67 to take the first-round lead at Centurion Club. The three-time Ladies European Tour winner began her round on the 10th hole and quickly found her rhythm, collecting birdies at the 13th and 16th before producing an eagle on the 18th to surge up the leaderboard.

Huang's only blemish came with a bogey on the third hole, but she responded impressively with consecutive birdies on the fifth and sixth before adding another on the ninth to finish alone at the top on six under par. Her composed display gave her a one-shot advantage after the opening day of the tournament.

Australia's Kelsey Bennett and Austria's Emma Spitz sit tied for second after both posted rounds of 68. A large group of players share fifth place at three under, including Sweden's Louise Rydqvist, Singapore's Shannon Tan, Germany's Olivia Cowan and Aline Krauter, Italy's Alessia Nobilio and Anna Zanusso, and Ireland's Áine Donegan, setting up a tightly contested battle heading into the second round.

One of the standout moments of the day came from England's Gemma Clews, who celebrated the first hole-in-one of her professional career on the par-three 17th hole. The memorable ace highlighted an eventful opening round as the field prepares for another competitive day at Centurion Club.
