The second round of the 2025 Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL), initially scheduled to take place in Kaduna State, now has a new host.
Postponed until July, the second round will now be held in Anambra State from the third week of August 2025, coinciding with the Yam Festival.
It is worth noting that Nnewi, in Anambra State, successfully hosted the second round of the 2024 NBSL season.
The change in venue was due to logistical issues that prevented Kaduna from staging the second round.
This update was confirmed by the league coordinator, Mahmud Hadejia, during a virtual meeting with participating teams held over the weekend.
He stated, "Last season, Nnewi was explosive! It gave the league a new vibe and a memorable experience, as it was the first time it was hosted in the eastern part of the country. The teams enjoyed it, so we all want to experience it again."
In a related development, the third round of the league is being considered for a new location, with Kwara State expressing strong interest in hosting.
Round three will determine the teams that qualify for the Super Six Playoffs, scheduled for December in Akwa Ibom State.
Eight teams began the 2025 NBSL season in Round One, hosted in Kebbi State.
