Abubakar’s five-star display powers Niger BSC as Kebbi Fishers, Kada extend winning runs

The second round of the 2026 Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) continued in Kaduna with thrilling encounters, as Niger BSC, Kebbi Fishers BSC, and Kada BSC all recorded impressive victories to boost their ambitions in the competition.

The highlight of the day came in Match Seven, where Hassan Abubakar produced a sensational performance to inspire Niger BSC to a commanding 6-3 victory over defending champions Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors.

Abubakar was in devastating form, netting five goals to maintain his red-hot scoring streak and underline his status as one of the league’s most dangerous attackers. Garba Abubakar added the other goal for Niger BSC in a dominant attacking display.

Despite spirited efforts from the Anambra Warriors, who found the net through Chizoba Iwumune's brace and Gabriel Chinweze's strike, they were unable to match the relentless offensive pressure from their opponents. Hassan Abubakar's remarkable five-goal haul deservedly earned him the Man of the Match award.

In Match Eight, Kebbi Fishers BSC edged past Jigawa Golden Stars BSC 3-2 in a fiercely contested encounter.

An own goal by Hamza Bagudu handed Kebbi the early initiative before Ekene Obi and Umar Sadiqee added crucial goals to secure maximum points. Bagudu responded impressively for Jigawa Golden Stars with both of his side's goals and was rewarded with the Man of the Match accolade despite ending on the losing side.

Match Nine saw Kada BSC continue their impressive campaign with a comfortable 4-1 triumph over Ibom BSC.

Tanko Emmanuel led the charge with a brace, while Victor Tale and Jude David Ebuka also contributed to the scoresheet. Uwana Anietie grabbed Ibom BSC's lone goal, but it was not enough to prevent defeat.

Emmanuel's influential performance earned him the Man of the Match award as Kada strengthened their standing in Round Two.

With goals flowing and individual stars continuing to shine, the race for honours in the 2026 NBSL is gathering momentum as Round Two progresses in Kaduna.
