2026 Nigeria Hockey Super League: Kada Queens, Plateau Queens maintain flawless start

The race for the 2026 Nigeria Hockey Super League title gathered momentum on Matchday Two as Kada Queens and Plateau Queens continued their impressive winning streaks, while Police Machine and Plateau Tigers settled for a stalemate in the only men's fixture of the day at the National Hockey Pitch, Package B of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

In the women's category, Plateau Queens made it back-to-back victories after edging Yobe Desert Queens 1-0 in a closely contested encounter. The narrow win preserved their perfect record and kept them firmly in the hunt for the league title.

Defending champions Kada Queens were equally dominant, cruising to a comprehensive 4-0 victory over IGP Babes to record their second successive win.

The result further underlined their championship credentials as they remained among the early pace-setters.

Southwest also bounced back from their opening-day defeat with a convincing 2-0 triumph over Edo Queens to register their first points of the campaign.

In the men's division, Police Machine and Plateau Tigers shared the spoils after a goalless draw in a tense encounter. Both teams created chances but were unable to break the deadlock, with Plateau Tigers recording a second consecutive draw, while Police Machine remained unbeaten after two matches.

Following the conclusion of Matchday Two, Kada Queens and Plateau Queens remain the only women's teams with maximum points, while Kada Stars are the only men's side to have maintained a perfect start to the 2026 Nigeria Hockey Super League season.

With the competition beginning to take shape, teams will now turn their attention to the next round of fixtures as the battle for early supremacy intensifies.

The flawless performances of the leading teams set up a highly competitive framework for the remainder of the national tournament.
