2026 National Beach Volleyball Tour Serves Off in Kaduna

Posted : 07 June 2026

Kaduna State is set to take centre stage in Nigeria's beach volleyball calendar as the 2026 National Beach Volleyball (Star/Open) Tour gets underway, with organisers expressing confidence in the state's readiness to host the competition.

Chairman of the Control Committee, Mallam Ibrahim Attahiru, gave the assurance after leading a comprehensive inspection of the tournament facilities, describing the level of preparation as impressive and sufficient for a successful event.

The tournament serves off on Saturday, June 6, with players from across the country expected to compete for top honours on the sand.

According to Attahiru, members of the Control Committee are satisfied with the arrangements put in place and remain committed to ensuring a smooth and fair competition for all participants.

"Members of the Control Committee are on the ground to assess the level of preparation, and I can confidently assure you that Kaduna State is fully ready to host the Beach Volleyball (Star/Open) Tour," Attahiru said.

He stressed that the welfare of athletes remains a priority, noting that all necessary measures have been taken to provide a conducive environment for competitors.

The administrator also highlighted the strategic importance of the championship, revealing that outstanding performers will attract the attention of national selectors ahead of future continental engagements.

"We are expecting the best from the players because this tournament will serve as a platform for the commission to identify players for upcoming African championships, both at the age-grade and senior levels," he added.

Attahiru urged athletes to demonstrate discipline, sportsmanship, and their highest level of performance throughout the event.

He also commended the President of the CAVB Beach Volleyball Commission, Engineer Musa Nimrod, for his sustained efforts in the development and promotion of beach volleyball in Nigeria and across Africa.

The tournament is expected to provide a competitive platform for emerging and established players while contributing to the continued growth of beach volleyball nationwide.
