2026 African Women’s Club Volleyball Championship: NCS stages comeback win over VLA of Congo In Cairo

Posted : 15 April 2026

Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) demonstrated grit and composure to overturn an early deficit and defeat Volleyball League of Africa (VLA) of DR Congo 3–1 at the ongoing 2026 CAVB Women’s African Volleyball Club Championship in Cairo, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The encounter began on a challenging note for the Nigerian representatives, who narrowly lost the opening set 24–26 in a fiercely contested battle. However, that setback proved to be a turning point as NCS regrouped and returned with renewed intensity.

Showing better cohesion and sharper attacking play, NCS controlled the second set to secure a 25–20 win and restore parity.

They carried that momentum into the third set, where their dominance was evident in a convincing 25–16 triumph.

With confidence high, the Nigerian side stayed composed in the fourth set, edging out their Congolese opponents 25–19 in a tense finish to complete the comeback.

The result underlines NCS’s resilience and growing authority in the competition as they build momentum in their quest for continental success.

The victory marks a significant step forward for the Nigerian side as they continue to navigate the challenges of the continental stage. By maintaining this level of performance, the Nigeria Customs Service remains a formidable contender in the race for the championship title.
