Toprak Razgatlioglu has set his sights on going head-to-head with MotoGP champion Marc Marquez in 2027, following his move from the Superbike World Championship. The Turkish rider, who clinched his third World Superbike title in October, will join the Prima Pramac Racing team for the 2026 MotoGP season.
At 29, Razgatlioglu will ride Yamaha machinery, which has lagged behind Ducati in recent years. However, he believes the introduction of new regulations and tyres in 2027 will level the playing field and provide opportunities for strong results.
Razgatlioglu described his upcoming rookie MotoGP season as primarily a period for adaptation. "The first year will be a learning year," he told MARCA. "After that, with the new tyres and new rules, I feel that there will be a lot of success in 2027."
While he hopes to secure some impressive finishes and possibly podiums in 2026, Razgatlioglu is focused on building toward a more direct rivalry with Marquez. "I hope this season to be fighting with him in some races, that's my goal, but in 2027 my biggest challenge will be fighting with him," he added.
