The 2025 MotoGP season promises to be one of the most exciting in years, with top-tier riders returning to form and new talents emerging to challenge the status quo. After a turbulent five-year stretch marked by injuries and unfulfilled potential, six-time world champion Marc Marquez is back in peak condition, riding what many believe to be the best bike in the paddock.
Now a part of the powerful Ducati factory team alongside reigning champion Pecco Bagnaia, Marquez will be looking to rekindle the dominance that once made him the sport’s most feared competitor. Their intra-team rivalry could be the defining storyline of the season.
South African eyes will be fixed on Brad Binder, who enters his sixth year in MotoGP determined to prove he still belongs among the elite. However, Binder’s biggest test may not come from the grid, but from within his own garage.
His KTM teammate Pedro Acosta, just 20 years old, stunned fans in his rookie campaign last year with five podium finishes and is now poised to take the next step. For Binder, maintaining his status as KTM’s top rider will require consistent performances and podium finishes amid stiff internal competition.
This year’s MotoGP calendar expands to a record 22 races, including a highly anticipated debut in Hungary and a return to the Czech Republic’s Brno circuit. With sprints now featured at every race weekend, riders have a massive 814 points available over the course of the season, increasing the pressure and opportunities alike.
The action resumes on 22 June with the Italian Grand Prix at Mugello, followed by iconic races in Assen, Sachsenring, and Brno in July, before a short summer break leads into a stacked second half of the calendar.
Whether it's Marquez chasing a fairytale comeback, Binder trying to hold off his hungry teammate, or a new contender rising through the ranks, the 2025 season promises high drama, relentless speed, and unforgettable moments on the world’s greatest circuits.
