Max Verstappen Sparks Historic Sell-Out as Nürburgring 24 Hours Tickets Sell Out for First Time

Posted : 13 May 2026

Max Verstappen has generated unprecedented demand ahead of his debut at the Nürburgring 24 Hours, with organisers confirming that multi-day tickets for the endurance event have completely sold out for the first time in its history.

The four-time Formula One world champion is taking a break from his regular Red Bull duties to compete in the iconic German endurance race. He will drive a Mercedes-AMG GT3 car and share the entry with Spaniard Dani Juncadella, French driver Jules Gounon, and Austria’s Lucas Auer under the Team Verstappen Racing banner.

The race, which begins on Saturday at the infamous “Green Hell,” has seen extraordinary global attention due to Verstappen’s participation. Organisers issued a statement confirming that weekend tickets are no longer available and warned fans not to travel without valid entry passes, as no on-site ticket sales will be offered.

Verstappen, who has already won 71 Formula One Grands Prix, has previously taken part in smaller events at the Nürburgring to gain experience and has impressed with strong performances in qualifying sessions. He described the 24-hour endurance challenge as a long-standing ambition and expressed excitement about finally competing in the event.

Despite the spotlight on Verstappen, organisers emphasised that the race remains a major endurance spectacle in its own right, featuring a record grid of 161 entries—the largest in over a decade. The SP9 category, in which Verstappen will compete for overall victory, includes major manufacturers such as Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Ford, Lamborghini, McLaren, Mercedes-AMG, and Porsche.

The Nürburgring 24 Hours, first held in 1970, takes place on a demanding 25-kilometre circuit that combines the historic Nordschleife with the modern Grand Prix track, making it one of the most challenging races in motorsport.
