Marquez Claims Record-Extending Pole at German MotoGP

Marc Marquez secured pole position for the German MotoGP after posting the fastest lap time aboard his Ducati during Saturday's qualifying session at the Sachsenring circuit.

The result marks the reigning world champion's ninth premier-class pole at this particular track, making him the first rider in the sport's history to reach that milestone at a single venue.

Known widely as "The King of the Ring" for his dominance at the German circuit, the 33-year-old Catalan will now target a 13th career victory there on Sunday, which would also represent his 10th MotoGP win specifically at Sachsenring.

Should he complete the win, Marquez would match two long-standing records held by Italian racing legend Giacomo Agostini—most victories at a single event, with 13, and most premier-class wins at the same circuit, with 10.

In qualifying, Marquez finished ahead of his brother Alex, who rides for the Ducati satellite squad Gresini, with Italian rider Fabio Di Giannantonio of the VR46 team—owned by MotoGP icon Valentino Rossi—rounding out the front of the grid.
