Lewis Hamilton has dismissed ongoing speculation about a rift between him and Ferrari race engineer Riccardo Adami, calling it “just noise.” Questions arose after tense radio exchanges during the Australian Grand Prix in March, which was Hamilton’s debut race for Ferrari. Those concerns resurfaced at last weekend’s Monaco Grand Prix when Hamilton was heard asking Adami, “are you upset with me?” following a lack of radio communication.
Ferrari attributed the radio silence in Monaco to technical difficulties, particularly in the tunnel section of the track, where signal interference is common. Hamilton clarified at the Spanish Grand Prix that the issue was indeed related to communication problems, and that he and Adami had addressed it post-race. He emphasized that such issues were being exaggerated by outside speculation and reaffirmed the strength of their working relationship.
According to Hamilton, while he and Adami occasionally disagree—as is normal in any collaborative effort—they remain united in their goal of winning a championship with Ferrari. He praised Adami's work ethic and said both are focused on improving performance and lifting the team. The British driver made it clear that external speculation has no bearing on their commitment to success.
Hamilton also highlighted that he and Adami are still getting to know each other’s styles, noting Adami’s past experience with drivers like Sebastian Vettel and Carlos Sainz. Despite a slow start to the season with just a sprint race victory in Shanghai, Hamilton remains optimistic. He recently finished fifth in Monaco, while teammate Charles Leclerc secured a strong second-place finish at home.
