Kimi Antonelli Makes History with Miami Grand Prix Win as Verstappen Admits Red Bull Struggles

Teenage sensation Kimi Antonelli continued his remarkable rise in Formula One by winning the Miami Grand Prix, marking a historic achievement in his early career. The Italian celebrated with his team and family before stressing that he intends to stay focused and continue working hard despite the growing attention around him.

Already the youngest driver to lead a Formula One championship race, Antonelli added another milestone by becoming the first driver to convert his opening three pole positions into consecutive victories. The result was a commanding display of composure and racecraft that further strengthened his reputation as one of the sport’s brightest young talents.

Antonelli’s victory was shaped by a crucial pit-stop strategy that allowed him to overtake Lando Norris mid-race. From there, he held firm under pressure, maintaining control in the closing stages to secure a memorable win and extend his championship lead over teammate George Russell.

Despite the excitement, Antonelli remained grounded, stating that the season is still long and that consistency will be key. His team principal Toto Wolff praised his performance but also urged calm, warning against excessive hype as expectations rise.

Rival Lando Norris acknowledged Antonelli’s strong form, praising his ability to handle pressure while jokingly admitting frustration at being beaten. Russell also commended his teammate’s progress, noting that the young driver’s speed and maturity are already proving valuable in only his debut season.

Meanwhile, four-time world champion Max Verstappen admitted that although his upgraded Red Bull showed improvement, the team still lacks the pace to challenge for victories. He reflected on a difficult race that included an early spin and strategic setbacks, ultimately finishing outside the podium positions.

Verstappen also acknowledged that even with better performance, a win would have been unlikely, pointing to ongoing gaps in competitiveness. His teammate Isack Hadjar experienced a tougher outing, crashing out early after starting from the back, which triggered a safety car period that briefly influenced race strategy.
