Isack Hadjar to Remain Max Verstappen’s Red Bull Team-Mate for 2027

Frenchman Isack Hadjar will remain with Red Bull for the 2027 Formula 1 season, continuing as Max Verstappen’s team-mate after the team extended his contract. Red Bull confirmed the agreement on Wednesday, completing its driver line-up for next year.

The 21-year-old moved up to Red Bull at the start of the 2026 campaign following his rookie season with Racing Bulls. He has made a strong impression in his first year with the senior team, recording seven consecutive top-six finishes before an injury forced him to miss three races. His standout result so far came with a podium at the Monaco Grand Prix.

Red Bull team principal Laurent Mekies said extending Hadjar’s contract was an easy decision, pointing to the Frenchman’s performances both on and off the circuit. Mekies also praised Hadjar’s ability to adapt quickly after stepping up to the team and highlighted his work with engineers at the factory.

Hadjar’s continuation comes as he prepares to return at this weekend’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix. He missed the Dutch, Italian and Spanish Grands Prix after suffering a wrist injury while training, but Red Bull confirmed he has recovered and will resume racing alongside Verstappen in Baku.

The Frenchman has also shown flashes of competitiveness against Verstappen during the season. His return means Red Bull will maintain the same driver pairing for a second consecutive campaign, while Verstappen is already committed to the team through the end of 2030.

Hadjar said he was excited to continue with Red Bull, describing the opportunity to race alongside four-time world champion Verstappen as a privilege. He added that he remains focused on learning, improving and pushing himself further as he continues his development with the team.
