Isack Hadjar to Miss Spanish Grand Prix as Liam Lawson Continues at Red Bull

Isack Hadjar will miss his third straight race in Madrid as he continues recovering from a wrist injury, with Liam Lawson again replacing him at Red Bull.

Isack Hadjar will not return to Formula 1 action at this weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid as he continues his recovery from a wrist injury. Red Bull confirmed on Monday that the French driver remains unavailable for the third consecutive race.

Liam Lawson will once again step into Hadjar’s Red Bull seat alongside Max Verstappen. The New Zealander previously replaced Hadjar at the Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort and the Italian Grand Prix at Monza, and will now continue with the senior team in Madrid.

Yuki Tsunoda will again move into Lawson’s Racing Bulls seat for the third race in succession. He will line up alongside rookie Arvid Lindblad as the team maintains the same driver arrangement used at Monza.

Red Bull said Hadjar’s recovery is progressing well but that he is not yet ready to return to the cockpit. The 21-year-old will travel to Madrid to support the team, with Red Bull stressing that it wants him to return only when he is fully fit.

Hadjar suffered a wrist fracture during training over the summer break, forcing him to miss the races at Zandvoort and Monza. The injury has kept him sidelined despite encouraging progress in his rehabilitation.

Lawson has recorded a seventh-place finish at Zandvoort and 14th at Monza since taking over from Hadjar. Tsunoda, meanwhile, finished 10th at Monza after also filling in at Racing Bulls during the previous race weekend.
