Dana White Denies Sean Strickland Is Barred from UFC White House Event

Posted : 10 June 2026

UFC president Dana White has dismissed suggestions that middleweight champion Sean Strickland has been prohibited from attending the organization’s planned event at the White House.

The historic UFC Freedom 250 card is scheduled to take place on the South Lawn of the White House on the 80th birthday of Donald Trump. The event is being organized as part of celebrations commemorating 250 years of American independence and is expected to be one of the most unique venues in UFC history.

Controversy emerged after Strickland claimed last week that he had been prevented from attending because of previous comments he made regarding Trump, Israel, and the Epstein Files. The fighter suggested that his public remarks had influenced the decision.

However, White firmly denied those allegations during a media appearance on Tuesday. He stated that Strickland had not been banned and emphasized that attendance restrictions were related to the limited capacity of the event rather than any disciplinary action. According to White, only around 4,300 tickets will be available, making access highly restricted.

White also addressed the situation with his trademark humor, joking that Strickland was “banned from humanity” before clarifying that no such ban exists. He added that the outspoken fighter has frequently generated controversy through his behavior and public statements but insisted that neither Strickland nor anyone else has been officially excluded from the event.

The UFC chief further stated that no athletes, media members, or even walkout music selections had been prohibited, rejecting suggestions that the organization was imposing restrictions on participants connected to the event.

Strickland later responded on social media platform X, maintaining his version of events. The middleweight champion said he had received a call informing him that he had not been cleared by the White House, fueling further debate over the circumstances surrounding his attendance.

The disagreement adds another chapter to Strickland’s often controversial public profile. The American fighter has frequently attracted criticism for comments widely viewed as offensive, including remarks concerning women and minority groups. Despite the ongoing dispute, UFC officials continue to insist that no formal ban has been issued against him.
