Belgian Grand Prix Set to Test Formula One's Best at Legendary Spa-Francorchamps

Posted : 13 July 2026

Formula One returns to one of its most iconic venues this weekend as the Belgian Grand Prix takes centre stage at the historic Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.

Renowned for its fast, flowing layout, unpredictable weather and famous corners such as Eau Rouge, Raidillon and Blanchimont, the Belgian race is widely regarded as one of the toughest and most exciting challenges on the Formula One calendar.

The race weekend, scheduled from July 17 to July 19, will feature two practice sessions on Friday, a final practice and qualifying on Saturday, before Sunday's 44-lap Grand Prix.

Teams will use the weekend to fine-tune their cars for the demanding 7.004-kilometre circuit, where tyre management, changing weather conditions and race strategy often play decisive roles.

The championship battle is expected to intensify at Spa, with every point becoming increasingly valuable as the season enters its second half. Recent races have produced several different winners, underlining the competitive nature of the 2026 campaign and raising expectations for another closely fought contest in Belgium.

Ferrari arrive with renewed confidence after winning two of the last three Grands Prix, although team principal Fred Vasseur has urged caution despite the team's recent resurgence.

Drivers and engineers traditionally regard Spa-Francorchamps as one of the ultimate tests of both speed and precision. The circuit combines long straights with high-speed corners and dramatic elevation changes, demanding maximum commitment while leaving little room for error.

Rain has frequently played a decisive role at the Belgian Grand Prix, meaning teams must remain prepared to adapt their strategies at short notice.

Beyond the Formula One action, fans will also enjoy a packed programme featuring Formula 2, Formula 3 and Porsche Supercup races throughout the weekend, providing a showcase for some of motorsport's brightest emerging talents.

Historic Formula One car demonstrations and fan activities will add to the festival atmosphere at one of the sport's most celebrated venues.

With championship ambitions on the line and one of Formula One's most challenging circuits awaiting the drivers, the Belgian Grand Prix promises another thrilling chapter in the 2026 season. A strong result at Spa could prove pivotal as teams and drivers continue their pursuit of world championship glory.
