Aleix Espargaro joins Lidl-Trek in 2025 for special role

After a successful career in MotoGP, Aleix Espargaro has made the transition from motor racing to cycling. Following the conclusion of the 2024 MotoGP season, the 35-year-old Spanish rider retired from his two-wheel career, having secured three race wins and accumulated 255 starts. Espargaro has now joined the Lidl-Trek cycling team, where he will take on an ambassadorial role starting in 2025, while still remaining involved in the MotoGP world by assisting the HCR team with their testing processes.

Espargaro’s move into cycling is a significant shift, but one that reflects his long-standing passion for the sport. Despite retiring from active racing, Espargaro will remain connected to MotoGP through his role with HCR. He will contribute to the team’s testing activities, continuing his involvement in the world of motor racing while pursuing his new cycling venture. "I’ll give it everything I have," he added, reaffirming his commitment to his new role with Lidl-Trek.
