Wesley Bryan has been suspended by the PGA Tour for participating in a LIV Golf-affiliated event titled “The Duels: Miami,” held the week before the Masters at Doral. Although the tour has not issued an official statement, Bryan confirmed the suspension in an interview with the website Monday Q and expressed uncertainty over its duration. He also stated his intention to appeal the decision.
Despite being present at the Corales Puntacana Championship in the Dominican Republic—where he was runner-up last year—Bryan is not competing this time. Once a full-status player, Bryan currently ranks 169th in the FedExCup standings with $75,068 in earnings for the 2025 season.
Bryan’s participation in the LIV-sponsored exhibition event, which featured a mix of LIV golfers and YouTube personalities in a nine-hole scramble format, led to his suspension. The contest had a $250,000 prize and was broadcast on Grant Horvat’s YouTube channel.
Wesley and his brother, George Bryan, well known for their trick-shot videos on their shared channel, were among the creators warned about potential repercussions from the PGA Tour.
However, according to the Monday Q report, only Wesley was suspended—reportedly the day after the video went live. Despite the outcome, Bryan stood by his decision to play, citing the video’s impact on the growth of golf through digital content.
Reflecting on his journey, Bryan shared appreciation for his time on the PGA Tour, where he has made 68 cuts in 134 events, securing five top-five and nine top-10 finishes. A native of Columbia, South Carolina, and a University of South Carolina alum, Bryan turned professional in 2012 and officially joined the tour in 2017. His total career earnings on the tour amount to over $5.2 million.
Although this suspension casts uncertainty over his future in competitive golf, Bryan emphasized his ongoing commitment to promoting the sport through YouTube and expressed hope that this incident won’t mark the end of his playing career.
