Toulouse 0-0 Nantes: A league-wide display of opposition against homophobia was boycotted by Toulouse players

Due to their disagreement with a league-wide display of solidarity against homophobia, certain Toulouse players were not allowed to play in the Ligue 1 match against Nantes on Sunday.
The act was made in support of May 17th, the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia.
According to a statement from the club, the worried players expressed their discomfort with the linkage of their image with the rainbow colours of the LGBT movement.
Toulouse and Nantes drew 0-0.
The statement continued: "While respecting the individual choices of its players, and after numerous exchanges, Toulouse Football Club has chosen to leave the said players out of the match."
Coaches and officials donned rainbow armbands, while players in Ligue 1 and 2 had rainbow-colored numbers on their jerseys and stood with banners before this weekend's games.
Zakaria Aboukhlal, a 23-year-old striker for Toulouse and Morocco, stated that he took the decision not to play in today's game.
