Super Eagles player suspends contract with Moscow giants

Chidera Ejuke has made the decision to suspend his contract with PFC CSKA Moscow, opening up the possibility of a potential move to the Championship. 

The former Russian champions officially announced this development on their website, highlighting Ejuke's utilization of a recent FIFA amendment that allows players to unilaterally suspend their agreements until the conclusion of the upcoming season. 

This amendment was introduced due to the escalating conflicts between Russia and Ukraine, which have raised concerns about player safety in the two countries. 

However, only players who had previously utilized the FIFA amendment and "frozen" their contracts are eligible to suspend their agreements.

While PFC CSKA Moscow still has the option to seek legal protection to protect their interests in this matter, Chidera Ejuke has taken advantage of such opportunities before. 

Last summer, he made a similar move that allowed him to spend the previous season at Hertha Berlin. 

Unfortunately, his time at Hertha Berlin was hampered by injuries, limiting his appearances to just 20 league games. 

Despite providing three assists, Ejuke's efforts were not enough to prevent Hertha from being relegated from the Bundesliga.

With his contract at CSKA Moscow now suspended, Ejuke is free to explore temporary moves away from the Russian club. 

This has piqued the interest of Cardiff City, who reportedly have shown interest in securing Ejuke on a loan deal similar to his previous stint at Hertha Berlin. 

Cardiff City, who narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League last season after reaching the Championship playoffs, hope that Ejuke's arrival can contribute to their success in the upcoming season.

It is important to note that Ejuke's contract with PFC CSKA is set to expire in the summer of 2024, suggesting that he may have already played his last match for the Moscow giants.
