Stuttgart, Augsburg keen on signing Southampton's Nigerian striker

German Bundesliga clubs VfB Stuttgart and Augsburg have shown a keen interest in signing Nigerian forward Paul Onuachu from Southampton, according to Sky Deutschland's transfer market expert, Florian Plettenberg.
Plettenberg revealed that talks have taken place between both Bundesliga teams and Onuachu.
However, the Super Eagles striker's demanding salary of 1.5 million euros per year is considered too high for Augsburg.
Augsburg, who narrowly avoided relegation last season and scored one of the fewest goals in the Bundesliga, see Onuachu as a potential solution to their goal-scoring struggles.
On the other hand, VfB Stuttgart views the Nigerian forward as a possible replacement for Serhou Guirassy, their top scorer from the previous season, who is rumored to be leaving the club.
While Onuachu failed to find the back of the net in his limited appearances for Southampton in the Premier League last season, his previous success in the Jupiler Pro League has attracted attention from various suitors.
In addition to Stuttgart and Augsburg, Borussia Monchengladbach and Schalke 04 have also been linked with an interest in signing the former Jupiler Pro League top scorer.
