Rugby Championship: Team Anambra Female side books Q/final ticket

Anambra State Female Rugby team has booked their place in the quarterfinals of the ongoing annual National Rugby Championship.
Team Anambra defeated Nigerian Police RFC in their first match by 17 tries to nil and also saw off Benue Buffalo by 15 tries to nil in their third group match while losing to Gosar FC of Lagos by 15 tries to nil in their second group match.
The 4-day championship which kicked off on Friday, July 14 is expectedly to be concluded on Monday, July 17 2023 and currently ongoing at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.
Delta State has 11 teams from 8 states of the federation featuring in the national programme being bankrolled by the Delta State Government.
Team Anambra is at the championship with 26-member contingent made up of 24 players and 2 officials led by Coach Paul Vincent and Anambra Rugby Association Secretary, Charles Okechukwu Udegbe.
