England will face Nigeria in the World Cup's last 16, setting up a reunion with their former teammate, Ashleigh Plumptre.
The Leicester-born player, who previously represented England at various youth levels, chose to switch to the Super Falcons after researching her family roots, driven by her sister's experience with racism.
Despite England extending an invitation to join their senior squad, Plumptre remained committed to Nigeria, qualifying through her African-born grandfather.
Her dedication has earned her the admiration of Nigerian fans, who affectionately chant "white girl" as a tribute to her.
Tim, her father, believes she will be Nigeria's secret weapon against England, as she knows the Lionesses' players well and understands their strengths and weaknesses.
The match will be a significant moment in Plumptre's journey of self-discovery, and her family couldn't be prouder of her achievements.
