Osayi-Samuel denies transfer rumors, Fenerbahce status confirmed

Bright Osayi-Samuel, the talented right-back for the Super Eagles, has opted not to address the ongoing reports linking him away from Fenerbahce, the Turkish club he currently plays for.

During the past transfer window, Osayi-Samuel's name has been associated with several prominent clubs, including Rangers from Scotland, Troyes from France, and English sides Bournemouth and Leeds United.

Last season proved challenging for the energetic right-back as he faced tough competition for a spot in Fenerbahce's starting lineup, contending with Ferdi Kadioglu. 

Consequently, he managed only 23 appearances in the Turkish Süper Lig, with 10 of those being as a starter and the remaining 13 as a substitute. This marked a notable contrast to the previous season, where he started 27 league games.

Given his limited playing time at Fenerbahce, other clubs have expressed their interest in acquiring his services, drawn by his undeniable talent and potential impact on the field.

Despite the ongoing speculation surrounding his future, the 25-year-old remained tight-lipped during media duties in a pre-match interview before their game against Moldovan club Zimbru Chisinau on Wednesday. 

When questioned about his plans, Osayi-Samuel maintained his focus on his current team, stating firmly, "I am currently a Fenerbahçe player. I don't listen to the gossip. My job is to focus on where I am. I am completely focused on Fenerbahçe. I believe in our coach. It makes me feel like he believes in me too. I'm looking forward to tomorrow's game."

Since joining Fenerbahce in January 2021, the Nigerian international, who boasts four caps for his country, has already made 100 appearances across all competitions, showcasing his versatility and contribution with three goals and seven assists to his name. 

Despite the transfer rumors swirling around him, he continues to demonstrate dedication to his current club and his commitment to giving his best on the pitch for Fenerbahce.
