Ondo State begins construction of new mini stadium

Olusegun Ajimotokin, Chairman, Irele Local Government Area of Ondo State laid the foundation stone of a new mini-stadium in Ode-Irele, headquarters of the council area on Saturday.

Ajimotokin said that his administration was determined to provide sports infrastructure and make training facilities more accessible for sports enthusiasts and youths in the council area.

He said the stadium would contribute significantly to the discovery and nurturing of sports talents in the area and enhance social programmes, especially among youths.

“The construction of the mini stadium is part of our administration’s efforts to boost social activities and to prioritise youth development in our council area.

“It is to also help in boosting sporting activities, enhance talents discovery and God-given talents among our youths," Ajimotokin said.

He noted that the stadium would have basketball, volleyball and tennis courts.

Ajimotokin charged contractors handling the project to double their efforts and ensure speedy completion of the facility.
