Michael Olise, a member of the 2021 Super Eagles, set a Premier League record as Crystal Palace overcame a deficit to defeat Leeds United 5-1 on Easter Sunday at Elland Road.
With eight games remaining, the Londoners moved six points clear of the relegation zone after winning back-to-back games for the first time since November.
The home team took the lead in the 21st minute with a header from Patrick Bamford, his 50th career goal for Leeds United, but it was equal at the break thanks to a close-range strike from Marc Guehi.
Jordan Ayew, Eberechi Eze, and Odsonne Edouard scored goals for Crystal Palace in the final sixteen minutes of the second half to take a three-goal lead.
When it comes to players age 21 or under in the Premier League, only Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka (17) has assisted more goals than Olise since the beginning of last season.
According to the statisticians at OPTA, the Nigeria Football Federation target, who is 21 years and 118 days old today, became the youngest player in Premier League history to assist three goals from open play in a single game after his hat-trick of assists against Leeds United.
Eze recorded a game-high nine take-ons while Olise accounted for six of Crystal Palace's 34 successful dribbles against Leeds, the highest by a club in a Premier League match on record (since 2003-2004).
