Nnaji may choose Barcelona over Charlotte Hornets

Nigerian basketball talent James Nnaji, known for his contributions to Barcelona's success, may defer his NBA dream for another season, as the Charlotte Hornets acquired him in a draft-day trade but might not have the opportunity to see him play this summer. 

Despite being just 18 years old and possessing NBA-caliber athleticism, Nnaji is still considered a raw prospect in terms of development. 

However, Nnaji is currently evaluating his situation with his agent and, while not guaranteed, he expressed a desire to play in the Summer League, a possibility that Barcelona may allow.

The play-by-play announcer for Barcelona, Gerard Solé, revealed that Nnaji is not currently fully committed to leaving Barcelona and is exploring his options. 

The Hornets, having made moves to acquire Nnaji, would undoubtedly want to assess their new big man prospect up close, which would likely involve his participation in the Summer League held in Las Vegas.

This development puts Nnaji's NBA journey on hold for now, as he contemplates the best path forward for his career, taking into consideration the opportunities presented by both Barcelona and the Charlotte Hornets.
