Nigeria's former Under-17 midfielder, Ibraheem Jabaar, has made a move from South Africa's Stellenbosch Premier League club to join Israeli side Maccabi Petah Tikva, marking his first venture into European football.
Having joined Stellenbosch two years ago, Jabaar quickly made an impact. His outstanding performances earned him recognition as the league's best young player last season, a testament to his talent and potential.
As an explosive 20-year-old central midfielder, Jabaar achieved a remarkable feat by becoming the youngest player to reach 50 appearances for Stellenbosch, ultimately making 70 appearances in total for the club.
However, the time has come for Jabaar to bid farewell to Stellenbosch.
The club officially announced his departure on their website and expressed their well wishes as he embarks on his new journey in European football.
Stellenbosch Football Club took to Twitter to confirm the news, stating, "Stellenbosch Football Club has parted ways with Ibraheem Jabaar to pave the way for him to join Israeli side Maccabi Petah Tikva.
The club would like to thank our 2022 SFC Young Player of the Year for his service and wish him well on his journey abroad."
Maccabi Petah Tikva recently earned promotion to the Israeli Ligat ha'Al after finishing second in the Leimut League.
With this move, Jabaar aims to contribute to his new team's success and help them maintain their position in the Israeli top-flight.
