More than Usain Bolt's speed Karim Adeyemi, Borussia Dortmund player, might attend 2024 Olympic

Posted : 12 May 2023
Over 30 metres, Karim Adeyemi is quicker than Usain Bolt, but the Borussia Dortmund star does not want to attend the 2024 Olympic Games.

The quick-footed attacker, 21, who transferred from Red Bull Salzburg to Signal Iduna Park in the summer of 2022, has been timed at 3.60 seconds over 30 metres.

When breaking the 100m world record in 2009, Jamaican sprinting legend Usain Bolt completed the same distance in 3.78 seconds.

Adeyemi has said that no one in football circles can match his pace on the field, but he has disqualified himself from competing on the track in Paris next summer.

Adeyemi responded when asked if he is the faster man in football: “Yes, I think so. I am very confident with that. Is there anybody close? Maybe. But not faster.”

Quizzed on whether he could represent his country at the Olympics, the Germany international added: “No, I don't think so. I cannot. I am focusing on football.”
For now, Adeyemi is looking to make the most of his time on the pitch at Dortmund, with nine goals and five assists recorded this season.
