Lionel Messi dismisses loan speculations, staying with Inter Miami during MLS offseason

Lionel Messi has put an end to speculations about leaving Inter Miami on loan during the MLS offseason. Despite Inter Miami failing to reach the MLS playoffs, Messi has no intentions of playing for another club between the 2023 and 2024 MLS seasons.
 
He expressed disappointment over the playoff miss and cited various challenges his team faced, including injuries and a demanding schedule, particularly in July. However, he's focused on training, playing the upcoming match against Charlotte FC, and then preparing for November's World Cup qualifiers before enjoying a holiday in Argentina.
 
Despite missing the MLS playoffs, Messi played a crucial role in helping Inter Miami win the Leagues Cup in August. In Tuesday's World Cup qualifying match against Peru, he scored two goals, becoming CONMEBOL's leading scorer in World Cup qualifiers with 31 goals.
 
Messi praised the growth and progress of the current Argentina team, comparing it to the iconic Pep Guardiola-coached Barcelona side he played for. While he acknowledged the unmatched stature of that Barcelona team, he believes the current Argentina squad, as Copa America winners and World Cup qualifiers, is on a remarkable trajectory and possesses a well-defined style of play.
