Kylian Mbappe misses Ligue 1 match against Lorient due to training with unwanted players

The ongoing conflict between the prominent player and the French champions persists: the striker has been directed to train alongside the "undesired players," and according to reports from French media, he is set to miss the opening Ligue 1 match against Lorient.
The unfolding saga within French football endures. Kylian Mbappe participated in training on Monday with Paris Saint-Germain's group of "undesired players," referring to those that the club is attempting to offload. Meanwhile, the remainder of the team's players resumed training after completing the pre-season tour of Asia, during which time the striker was not allowed to train with them.
Adding to this, the French publication L'Equipe revealed that due to the ongoing discord between the French champions and the once-celebrated star of the past six years, Mbappe is not expected to be part of PSG's lineup for the upcoming French league season opener against Lorient.
At present, neither party appears willing to shift from their stance. Mbappe persists in his decision not to extend his contract with the Parisian club, while the club maintains that until he does so, he will neither be permitted to train nor play.
PSG has consistently emphasized that only those "dedicated to the club" will be allowed to participate. Club owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi asserts that Mbappe assured him he would not depart the club without compensation at the end of his contract.
However, it now appears that this may be the player's intention. On the flip side, sources from France claim that Paris Saint-Germain turned down multiple offers over the summer for the acquisition of Mbappe.
The specter looming over the captain of the French national team is Real Madrid, a club whose name has been linked to the 24-year-old star's potential future destination on multiple occasions in recent years.
Several reports indicate that Real Madrid is prepared to wait until next summer—when Mbappe's contract concludes—to sign him on a free transfer. In contrast, Paris Saint-Germain is hoping for the Spanish club to present a purchase offer for the striker during the current transfer window. Such an offer would lead to an immediate transfer, enabling PSG to reap financial benefits from the sale.
L'Equipe suggests that Real Madrid is unwilling to make an offer until Mbappe publicly states his desire to leave. Nevertheless, Mbappe remains steadfast in his position that he will stay in the French capital until the expiration of his contract.
In the meantime, PSG is actively pursuing new attacking players as replacements for Mbappe. They are reportedly close to securing Gonzalo Ramos from Benfica and are also in talks to acquire Ousmane Dembele from Barcelona.
Kylian Mbappe joined Paris Saint-Germain from Monaco in the summer of 2017 and enjoyed a six-year tenure at the club, amassing 212 goals in 260 appearances. His contributions led to five French championships, three FA Cups, and an appearance in the Champions League final (where they were defeated by Bayern Munich in 2020).
