Julian Alvarez’s future at Atletico Madrid has become one of the most contentious stories of the summer, with the Argentina international caught between his desire for a move and the club’s determination to keep him.

The latest development came on Sunday when Atletico supporters jeered Alvarez during the 2-2 draw with Villarreal. The 26-year-old entered the game in the second half and was met by boos and chants from sections of the Metropolitano crowd amid reports that he wants to leave.

Other reports indicate that Arsenal have not yet secured the player's agreement to a move to north London.
