Jose Mourinho: Roma boss charged for using abusive language towards official at Europa League final
Posted : 03 June 2023
Jose Mourinho, the coach of Roma, has been reprimanded by UEFA for using derogatory language following the Europa League final on Wednesday.
The accusation refers to a post-game altercation in which Mourinho, 60, yelled obscenities at English referee Anthony Taylor.
Taylor had issued a caution to the Portuguese in Budapest, where Sevilla defeated Roma on penalties following a 1-1 draw.
Additionally, both teams are being investigated for the actions of their supporters and athletes.
Sevilla and Roma are accused of illegal team behaviour, igniting pyrotechnics, and hurling items.
European side Invasion of the playing field is an extra charge against Sevilla, and acts of vandalism and crowd disruptions are further charges against Roma.
The Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) of UEFA will make a decision in due time.
