Ilechukwu will remain with us as coach, says Plateau Utd

As situation about Plateau United Fidelis Ilechukwu looks uncertain, his present employer says the experienced gaffer is going nowhere.

It has been reported earlier that Fidelis Ilechukwu has agreed to join another Nigeria Professional League side, but Plateau United management has insisted that the coach can only be on a wish list, but not available.

Rangers International FC who are the runners-up of the last Federation Cup are now without a coach as the former gaffer, Abdul Maikaba has left the club on mutual consent.

A source in the Plateau state government confirmed the situation around Ilechukwu, especially about his contract yet to be renewed, which makes him available on the market but they are willing to more than double his current salary in order to keep him.

"We have seen that Enugu Rangers are seriously on the trail of Fidelis Ilechukwu as we continue to discuss with him to remain at the helm of affairs of our darling team.

"We are progressing as we are ready to break the bank to retain him here (in Jos)," the source revealed.

"Even if there is any commitment between Enugu Rangers and Fidelis Ilechukwu, we implore him to go settle it as the Gov. Caleb Mutfwang-led administration is sure that the Ex MFM gaffer is the perfect fit for our project."
