Former Manchester United prospect Ravel Morrison fined for misusing blue badge

Posted : 02 December 2023

Ravel Morrison, once hailed as a promising talent in Manchester United's academy, continues to be associated with wasted potential due to behavioral issues. The 30-year-old midfielder, known for his turbulent career, recently faced a fine of nearly £2,000 for using a blue badge not registered in his name to park in a designated area. Astonishingly, the original badge holder had passed away in February 2022, making Morrison's use of it inappropriate.

Last season, Morrison played under Wayne Rooney at MLS United, showcasing the struggles he has faced since his time with Manchester United's first team. His career has been marred by behavioral problems and involvement in violent incidents, leading to legal troubles.

Despite making three appearances for Manchester United before departing, Morrison has moved through various teams in England and played in several countries, including Italy, Mexico, Sweden, and the Netherlands, before joining a U.S. team this season.

In this recent incident, Morrison claimed to have purchased the badge for £50 from an unidentified individual at Old Trafford. The midfielder's car was towed from the designated parking area, and he had to retrieve it later that day.

Morrison's checkered past, marked by legal issues and struggles to fulfill early career potential, highlights the challenges he continues to face in the world of football. Currently representing Jamaica, he has earned 18 caps and scored two goals for the national team.
