FIFA's Ban: Football Fraternity Awaits Nigeria's Samson Siasia's Return

Following the end of his five-year ban from FIFA, the global governing body of football, the football community eagerly awaits the return of former Super Eagles player and coach Samson Siasia to the sport.

 

The enigmatic coach, Siasia, was sanctioned by FIFA over an alleged involvement in a match-fixing scandal, which he has vehemently denied and described as a hoax.

 

Despite Siasia's efforts to clear his name, including appeals, FIFA remained unmoved, resulting in a five-year ban. However, the Court of Arbitration for Sport later reduced his ban, which is expected to expire by the end of August.

 

After years of absence, Siasia is anticipated to return to a coaching role. He is currently considering a comeback in local football as a stepping stone to re-entering the top flight.
