CSGORoll and G2 Esports collaborate, drawing criticism

The CS:GO skin trading and gambling website CSGORoll and Berlin-based esports organization G2 Esports have collaborated. The relationship was announced in a controversial promotional film.

Ilya "M0nESY" Osipov, a CS:GO player for G2, is shown in an advertisement promoting the collaboration, titled "We're All In," strolling through a fictitious casino.

The video displays traditional backgammon cards and graphical representations of the CSGORoll interface in a casino environment.

Osipov only turned 18 the day before the announcement video was published, which has led to criticism of the collaboration.

Sceptical community members who think it was improper to include a young individual, probably underage at the time of filming, in the making of the advertisement raised an eyebrow when the player was used to promote a skin gambling website.

The fact that G2 is collaborating with a website that seems to promote unregulated gambling of CS:GO skins has also sparked criticism from the community. In-game CS:GO skins, which can be exchanged for real money and have value, have been used by underage gamers to wager on unregulated websites for a long time in CS:GO scandals.

The partnership's terms and the specifics of any upcoming activations were not made public. On CSGORoll's website, G2 Esports is recognized as an Official Partner.

The CEO of CSGORoll, who goes by the alias "EyE," made a statement in a press release: “At CSGORoll, our community has always been at the forefront of every decision we make. Having met with G2, I was blown away by their level of creativity, ambition, and passion for their fans.

“With shared values for the wider gaming community, we’re extremely excited to work with the team and expose our community to the incredible events that we have planned!”

Since its establishment in 2016, CSGORoll has grown to rank among the top CS:GO skin websites. It has avoided the criticism that has surrounded websites like CS:GO Lotto and Shuffle. To make sure the user is not being scammed, the website provides a mechanism to check the random number creation code.
