Conor Benn Declines to Respond to Claims that he has been "Provisionally Suspended" for Doping
Posted : 19 April 2023
Conor Benn, a boxer, claims he is unable to comment on rumors that UK Anti-Doping has temporarily suspended him.
The British Boxing Board of Control and Ukad are looking into the results after Benn, 26, failed two voluntary drug tests last year.
Benn was "provisionally suspended" by Ukad, according to Boxing News magazine, on March 15.
Benn said that he "remains free to fight outside the UK" and accused Ukad or the BBBofC of leaking the information.
The Englishman gave up his British boxing license following the doping controversy; thus he does not now possess one.
That has no bearing on Ukad or the authority of the BBBofC to potentially suspend the welterweight.
The BBBofC can only implores other regulatory organizations to deny Benn permission to compete internationally.
