Chelsea captain Reece James charged by FA for alleged post-match tunnel incident

Chelsea captain Reece James has been charged by the Football Association following an alleged incident in the tunnel following Saturday's defeat to Aston Villa.
The 23-year-old England defender, who missed the match due to injury, is accused of using improper, insulting, and abusive language and/or behavior toward a match official. Reece James has until September 29 to respond to the FA's charge under rule E3.
Reportedly, James confronted referee Jarred Gillett after Chelsea's 1-0 loss to Villa at Stamford Bridge. The Blues had a challenging start to the season, with just five points from six Premier League games under new manager Mauricio Pochettino, marking their worst start in eight years.
French defender Malo Gusto was also sent off during the match, initially receiving a yellow card for a tackle on Villa defender Lucas Digne, which was later upgraded to a red card following a VAR review.
