Borussia Dortmund's manager, Edin Terzic, expressed frustration over VAR decisions after his team's 1-1 draw against Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday. Despite taking an early lead through Julian Ryerson, Dortmund felt aggrieved over a potential penalty not given when Karim Adeyemi went down in the box.
The contact was not reviewed by VAR, and Leverkusen equalized shortly afterward through Victor Boniface. Terzic, particularly upset about the penalty situation, stated that such instances disadvantage his team frequently, especially Adeyemi, and he confronted the referee after the match, disagreeing with the explanation provided.
Terzic highlighted Edmond Tapsoba's clear contact with Adeyemi's shin, expressing his disagreement with the decision and finding it challenging to comprehend. He emphasized that Dortmund was clearly disadvantaged, drawing parallels with a similar incident in the previous season against Bochum, where no penalty was given for a foul on Adeyemi.
Terzic's dissatisfaction with VAR decisions has heightened, considering past instances and the potential impact on Dortmund's title aspirations, as they currently stand fifth in the league, trailing leaders Leverkusen by 10 points and just outside the Champions League places.
