Beale to miss out on Dessers

In preparation for the upcoming 2023/24 campaign, Glasgow Rangers' head coach Michael Beale has been actively engaged in the summer transfer window, displaying his eagerness to strengthen the squad at Ibrox.

Several notable signings have already been secured, with Kieran Dowell, Dujon Sterling, and Jack Butland joining the team on free transfers from Norwich, Chelsea, and Crystal Palace, respectively. 

Their arrivals, set for the 1st of July, bring additional depth and quality to the squad.

Furthermore, Rangers have successfully completed the permanent acquisition of Dutch striker Sam Lammers from Atalanta, a notable coup for the club. 

Although the exact transfer fee remains undisclosed, Lammers' arrival is expected to bolster the attacking options and provide further firepower upfront. 

His experience and goal-scoring prowess will be valuable assets for the team.

However, while the Ibrox side has been active in the transfer market, one sought-after target will not be joining the Light Blues this summer. 

Despite reports indicating that Rangers were closing in on a €4.2 million (£3.6 million) deal to secure the services of Cyriel Dessers, the talented striker from Cremonese, the 28-year-old Nigerian has chosen to decline the move to Ibrox. 

Dessers has expressed his preference to stay in Italy, even though his current team has suffered relegation to Serie B.

Although missing out on Dessers may be disappointing for Rangers, the club's proactive approach in securing other signings demonstrates their commitment to strengthening the squad for the challenges ahead. 

Coach Michael Beale's busy activity in the transfer market reflects the ambition and determination of the Glasgow Rangers as they strive for success in the upcoming season.
