Ballon d'Or 2023 Rankings: Six Man City players are among the top 20 as Lionel Messi maintains lead

As local awards are given out and European final lineups are announced, the race for the Golden Ball is almost done.
 
Some of the top players in the world are aiming to succeed 2022 champion Karim Benzema in winning the Golden Ball in Paris later this year as the 2023 Ballon d'Or competition comes to a conclusion.
 
 
With the World Cup occurring in the middle of the 2022–23 season, it was expected to be a unique Ballon d'Or contest, but by the time votes are taken in August, it could not even be a memory.
 
Without a doubt, though, having a prominent role in Qatar has improved certain players' prospects of winning the Golden Ball, even if the domestic championships have already been determined and the Champions League final lineup has been chosen.
