Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta expressed his concern over Thomas Partey's injury record as the midfielder faces another spell on the sidelines due to a muscular problem. Partey suffered his latest setback during training, and there are fears he could be out until December.
Arteta acknowledged Partey's importance to the team when fit and available. Partey has suffered nine injuries in his three years at Arsenal, missing over 50 matches for the club and Ghana.
Arteta also provided an update on Gabriel Jesus, who suffered a hamstring injury. Although no specific timeframe was given, Arteta expressed caution and emphasized the importance of treating the player correctly. He noted that Jesus is eager to return and that his recovery progress is encouraging.
Regarding Declan Rice's potential return to West Ham with a warm reception from fans, Arteta expressed hope that the supporters would welcome him warmly. Rice spent a decade at West Ham and had a strong connection with the club, winning the Europa Conference League with them.
Arteta believes that returning to an old club is a beautiful moment for a player, allowing them to gauge the affection and appreciation of the people who shared those moments with them.
In the Carabao Cup fourth-round tie against West Ham United, Arteta is expected to rotate the squad, and it remains possible that Declan Rice will make his first appearance at London Stadium since his departure this summer for a £105 million transfer to Manchester City.
