Arsenal Intensify Pursuit of Bradley Barcola as PSG Star Emerges as Key Target

Arsenal are preparing to intensify their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola after receiving positive indications that the France international could be available during the summer transfer window.

The Gunners have monitored the 23-year-old for an extended period, and club representatives are expected to continue their assessment by watching him in France's World Cup Round of 32 clash against Sweden on Tuesday evening.

Barcola has emerged as one of Arsenal's leading attacking targets as manager Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his forward line ahead of the new season. Although Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers remains high on the club's shortlist, Villa's reported £130 million valuation has made negotiations increasingly difficult.

With Rogers likely to command a substantial transfer fee, Arsenal have identified Barcola as a realistic alternative. The French winger is highly regarded by the club's recruitment department, which believes his pace, technical ability, and versatility would make him an ideal addition to the squad.

Barcola's future at Paris Saint-Germain could also be influenced by the French champions' own transfer activity. RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande is reportedly closing in on a move to the Parc des Princes, a deal that could increase competition for attacking places and potentially open the door for Barcola's departure.

The winger remains under contract with PSG until the summer of 2028, but any transfer is still expected to cost considerably less than a move for Rogers, whose Aston Villa deal runs until 2031. If PSG decide to entertain offers, Arsenal are expected to be among the frontrunners, while Liverpool are also believed to be monitoring the situation closely.

In addition to reinforcing their attack, Arsenal are exploring options to strengthen their goalkeeping department. Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier has emerged as a player of interest as uncertainty surrounds the future of current backup goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Meslier is available on a free transfer after reaching the end of his contract with Leeds. The 26-year-old lost his place as the club's first-choice goalkeeper last season but remains an attractive option for Arsenal as they evaluate experienced and cost-effective additions to their squad.

With multiple positions under review, Arsenal's recruitment team is expected to remain active throughout the transfer window as the club seeks to build a squad capable of competing for major honors in the upcoming campaign.
