2025/2026 NPFL Match Day 30: Hassan Stays Optimistic Despite Warri Wolves’ Defeat to Bayelsa United

Posted : 17 March 2026

Warri Wolves head coach, Abdallah Hassan, has called for patience and composure following his side’s 2-1 defeat to Bayelsa United in Match Day 30 of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

Despite the setback, Hassan maintained a positive outlook, emphasizing that the team is making steady progress since his arrival. He noted that the players are gradually adapting to a new tactical and mental approach, which he believes will yield better results in the closing stages of the season.

“We are progressing gradually with every game since I assumed duty here,” Hassan said after the encounter. “Although it’s challenging, it’s still achievable because the players are adopting a different mentality during training sessions, which is evident in our performance so far. With more time, we can improve together.”

The Kano-born tactician, who holds CAF B and C coaching licenses, brings a wealth of experience to the role. His coaching résumé includes spells with Katsina Spotlight FC, Kano Pillars, and Heartland FC, as well as assistant coaching roles with Nigeria’s U-20 team and the senior national team, the Super Eagles.

Currently sitting 9th on the NPFL table with 39 points from 30 matches, Warri Wolves remain within reach of a strong finish as the season heads into its final stretch. Hassan’s confidence will be key as the team looks to bounce back and build momentum in the remaining fixtures.

Abdallah Hassan’s optimism reflects his belief in Warri Wolves’ potential to finish the season strongly despite their recent defeat. With his tactical experience and the team’s gradual adaptation to new methods, the Wolves remain poised to fight for a respectable position in the NPFL standings.
