Wikki Tourists secured a valuable away point with a thrilling 2–2 draw against Warri Wolves in Match Day 19 of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
The Tourists struck first through Imamu Bala, who opened the scoring in the 37th minute with an assist from Saifullahi, marking a fine return to form. Warri Wolves responded immediately after the break, with Ezekiel Oroh equalizing in the 46th minute before Seth Mayi completed the turnaround in the 56th minute.
Showing great character and determination, Wikki Tourists fought back and were rewarded as Imamu Bala scored his second goal in the 76th minute, assisted by Nasiru Jibrin, ensuring his side left Ozoro with a well-deserved point.
Speaking after the match, head coach Abdu Maikaba revealed that while the team aimed for all three points, he was satisfied with the outcome. “The plan was to pick the maximum points, but getting a draw away from home is still encouraging,” he said. Maikaba added that the immediate objective is to maintain stability in the league while carefully monitoring the team’s progress as the season unfolds.
He also praised his players for their commitment, resilience, and fighting spirit, particularly after conceding twice in the second half. A solid away performance and a brace from Imamu Bala marked another step forward for Wikki Tourists as the league heads into a break.
Wikki Tourists remain in 14th position on the league table, aiming to build on this performance in the upcoming matches.
