2025/2026 NPFL Match Day 14 Preview: Warri Wolves Set for Cagey Clash Against Kun Khalifat

Posted : 22 November 2025

Warri Wolves will look to bounce back to winning form when they face struggling league debutants Kun Khalifat FC in the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 14 fixture.

The Seasiders have been without a victory since their Match Day 10 2–0 win over South-South rivals Bayelsa United FC in Ozoro.

Since then, the Ozoro-based team—currently operating without a substantive head coach—have gone on a three-game winless run, including a disappointing 0–2 defeat to an in-form Ikorodu City FC.

Now, they face an equally troubled side, Kun Khalifat FC, who will be eager to make a statement given their poor standing on the NPFL log.

The Imolites currently sit in 18th place on the 2025/2026 NPFL table with 13 points from 13 matches, having recorded three wins, four draws, and six losses.

In an effort to attract more fans to their home matches, Kun Khalifat announced that supporters will now enjoy free entry to all remaining home fixtures for the rest of the 2025/2026 NPFL season.

The decision was confirmed on Friday through a statement issued by club president Michael Amaefula. According to the announcement, the initiative aims to boost fan support and create a more vibrant atmosphere as the team continues its top-flight campaign.

“Starting with our next NPFL home game against Plateau United on Sunday, November 30, the gates at the Dan Anyiam Stadium will be thrown completely open. From that match onward, every home game for the remainder of the season will be free access for all,” the statement read.

“This initiative is aimed at boosting support for the Pride of Imo State and bringing the thrills of the NPFL closer to the people.”

The club hopes the decision will increase turnout and spark greater momentum for the rest of the campaign.

Meanwhile, Kun Khalifat FC have officially appointed Emmanuel Osigwe as their new head coach following the dismissal of Napoleon Aluma. Osigwe, a former Nigerian international striker, previously worked on the club’s technical team but now takes full charge after a major restructuring.

The club announced that its entire previous coaching and management staff, led by Obinna Uzoho, has been disbanded. Confirming his appointment, Osigwe revealed that he will be assisted by Chinedu Okonkwo, who will serve as assistant coach. He also noted that his first match in charge will be the away fixture against Warri Wolves.

Osigwe holds a CAF B Coaching Licence, and his return brings both experience and a historic connection to the club. As a player, he famously scored for Nigeria at the 1980 Olympic Games against Czechoslovakia.
